Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Derma Planning.

Yes, when performed by our licensed estheticians, Derma Planning is safe for most skin types and tones. We assess sensitivity, acne activity, and any contraindications during consultation to ensure suitability and customize the approach for your skin's condition.

Sessions are a flat-rate single appointment and usually last about 45 to 60 minutes, including consultation and aftercare. Time allows for cleansing, careful dermaplaning, soothing mask, and product application to maximize benefits.

Dermaplaning removes vellus (peach) hair and dead skin but does not stop hair growth. Hair will grow back at its normal rate and texture; regular sessions are recommended every 3–6 weeks to maintain smoothness and radiant skin.

Minimal downtime. Most clients return to normal activities immediately, though skin may appear slightly pink and sensitive for 24–48 hours. We provide soothing products and aftercare instructions, including sun protection, to ensure proper healing and optimal results.

We evaluate acne severity and sensitivity during consultation. Mild, non-inflamed breakouts may be safely treated, but active cystic acne, open sores, or irritated skin are contraindications. Alternative soothing treatments will be recommended until your skin is suitable for dermaplaning.

For most clients, scheduling sessions every 3 to 6 weeks maintains smoothness and maximizes skincare absorption. Frequency varies based on skin type, hair growth, and goals; our estheticians will recommend a personalized plan during your consultation.
